Florence Wager was a driving force in the formation of the Parks Foundation. Flossie was a mentor, a friend, a cheerleader, and an honest critic. Our go-to-gal for advice and guidance, a pep talk and unwavering support for our mission and vision. When the Foundation was formed in 1999, Florence drafted one of the first fundraising letters to be sent out to the community. This letter sums up Florence's passion and commitment to preserving and protecting our parks and open spaces: “Is there a sweeter sound than that of the laughter of children playing in a park? If anyone questions the value of outdoor activity, they should stop by a park and observe the children and their families exercising their muscles, building relationships, learning how to get along, just enjoying being alive." Thank you Florence for all you did for our community.
